Arizona Man Charged After Mother’s Hidden Camera Captures Assault on Toddler

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – A 25-year-old man faces child abuse and aggravated assault charges after his girlfriend used a hidden cellphone camera to record him allegedly striking her 2-year-old daughter multiple times in the head, according to the Bullhead City Police Department.

Ora Carson II was arrested and booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman following the Monday incident. Both charges are related to domestic violence, police said.

The woman had been dating Carson for approximately two months when she became suspicious about her daughter’s unexplained injuries. The toddler “frequently had bruises, scratches and other injuries after she was around Carson,” according to police.

On Monday morning, the mother decided to set up her cellphone camera before leaving the room. When she reviewed the footage, she observed Carson allegedly striking the child multiple times in the head, police reported.

The mother immediately contacted authorities, telling police that her boyfriend “had been physically assaulting her daughter.” Officers who checked on the girl observed “multiple bruises and other injuries on the child consistent with physical abuse,” according to the department.

Police obtained the video footage from the mother as evidence. Officers then traveled to Carson’s residence on the 1800 block of Monterey Circle in Bullhead City and took him into custody without incident.

The child was transported to a local hospital before being transferred to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, “for precautionary measures and further medical evaluation,” police said.

As of Tuesday, the investigation remained ongoing, according to authorities.

Bullhead City is located on Arizona’s western border with Nevada, less than an hour’s drive from California.
