Federal Agents Dismantle Multi-State Prostitution Ring Operating 30 Locations

BOSTON, MA – Federal authorities have dismantled an extensive interstate prostitution network that operated approximately 30 commercial sex establishments across Massachusetts and eastern Virginia, officials announced Wednesday following a coordinated law enforcement operation.

The Department of Justice charged three individuals in connection with the sophisticated operation that allegedly catered to a clientele of politicians, military officers, and other prominent figures. Federal prosecutors describe the network as one of the largest commercial sex enterprises uncovered in recent years.

Han Lee, 41, James Lee, 68, and Junmyung Lee, 30, face federal charges including conspiracy to coerce and entice others to travel for prostitution. The suspects allegedly operated the network under the guise of massage therapy businesses and spa services across multiple jurisdictions.

Court documents reveal the organization maintained detailed client records and employed sophisticated booking systems to coordinate services across state lines. Federal investigators executed search warrants at multiple locations in Massachusetts and Virginia as part of the coordinated takedown.

“This network exploited vulnerable individuals while generating substantial illegal profits,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy in a statement. “Today’s charges demonstrate our commitment to dismantling human trafficking operations regardless of their scope or clientele.”

The investigation, dubbed “Operation Gilded Cage,” involved collaboration between federal agents, state authorities, and local law enforcement agencies. Officials indicate additional arrests may follow as the investigation continues.

Federal prosecutors allege the defendants used online advertising and referral networks to maintain operations across multiple states. The charges carry potential sentences of up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.

Authorities have not released the names of clients but indicated that individuals from various professional backgrounds, including government and military personnel, were among those who utilized the services. The investigation remains ongoing with additional charges possible.
