Teen Arrested After Woman’s Body Found Concealed in Trash at Oklahoma Home

EDMOND, OK – A teenager is in custody after authorities discovered a woman’s body hidden inside trash at an Oklahoma residence following an anonymous tip, officials said Wednesday.

Logan County deputies responded to the home in Edmond shortly after 2 p.m. for a welfare check after receiving information that something was wrong at the property. What they found inside was far worse than expected.

The woman, who owned the residence, was discovered deceased with injuries that investigators say are consistent with homicide. Her body had been concealed in garbage inside the home, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

Two teenagers were present at the property when deputies arrived. After questioning and examining evidence at the scene, investigators determined one of the teens was responsible for the woman’s death.

“Based on the information and evidence obtained, one of the teens was placed into custody and will be transported to a juvenile detention facility,” the OSBI stated in a release.

The juvenile suspect’s identity has not been released due to their age. The relationship between the suspect and the victim has not been disclosed by authorities.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is working alongside the OSBI on the investigation. Officials said they will submit their findings to the District 9 District Attorney’s Office for review and potential charges.

No additional details about the circumstances leading to the woman’s death have been released. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
