Repeat Offender Street Racing at 106 MPH Kills Milwaukee EMT in Hit-and-Run

MILWAUKEE, WI – A 22-year-old man who previously served time for killing someone in a crash is back behind bars after police say he was street racing at more than 100 mph when he struck and killed an EMT, then fled the scene.

Dayton Milligan has been charged with first-degree reckless homicide, hit-and-run resulting in death, and knowingly operating a motor vehicle while revoked causing death in the January 15 crash that killed Meng Kue, 34.

Kue was a Bell Ambulance EMT who dedicated his career to saving lives. He was driving his SUV through the intersection of 76th and Appleton when Milligan’s pickup truck slammed into him at high speed.

Vehicle data recovered by investigators showed the pickup was traveling at 106 mph approximately 2.5 seconds before impact and was still going 101 mph at the moment of collision. The posted speed limit on that stretch of road is 35 mph.

According to police, three vehicles were street racing when Milligan’s truck struck Kue’s SUV. After the crash, Milligan allegedly jumped into one of the other racing vehicles and fled the scene. Kue died from multiple blunt force injuries.

This wasn’t Milligan’s first deadly crash. He was convicted in June 2021 in Ashland County of second-degree reckless homicide and hit-and-run causing death. In that 2020 incident, Milligan sped off during a drug deal and crashed into a tree, leaving his victim to die. He served four years in prison and was on extended supervision at the time of the latest crash.

Earl Gordon, 37, who allegedly drove Milligan away from the scene, has been charged with hit-and-run resulting in death and harboring a felon. Gordon was previously convicted in 2023 for hit-and-run causing great bodily harm.
