Brooklyn Mother Arrested After 1-Month-Old Baby Found Dead in Duffel Bag

BROOKLYN, NY – A Brooklyn woman has been arrested after police responding to a welfare check discovered her one-month-old baby dead inside a duffel bag in her apartment.

Gynae Kendall was taken into custody Sunday and charged with concealment of a corpse following the death of her infant son, Adonnys Kendall.

The grim discovery came after the baby’s maternal grandmother grew concerned and called police to check on her daughter and grandchild Saturday evening. When officers arrived at the Brooklyn apartment where Kendall lived with her son, they found the infant deceased.

According to police sources, the one-month-old had been stuffed into a bag inside the residence. Investigators are still working to determine exactly when and how the baby died.

Kendall was taken to a local hospital before being processed and booked on the concealment charge. Additional charges could be forthcoming as the investigation continues and autopsy results become available.

The medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the infant’s cause and manner of death. Those findings could significantly impact what charges Kendall ultimately faces.

Neighbors expressed shock at the news, saying they had no idea anything was wrong in the apartment. The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information about the case to come forward.
