Oklahoma Teen Stabs Brother to Death After Flying Into Rage During Video Game Session

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A 19-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder after authorities say he stabbed his older brother to death during an argument that erupted while the two were playing video games together.

William Spencer is being held on a $10 million bond after allegedly killing his 25-year-old brother Nicholas Spencer at their home on Southeast 44th Street and Bryant Avenue on the evening of January 18. The fatal attack happened around 8:30 p.m.

According to Oklahoma City police, the suspect himself called 911 to report what he had done. Master Sergeant Rob Robertson said the caller stated they had “just stabbed their brother.”

When officers arrived at the residence, they found Nicholas Spencer suffering from severe stab wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

William Spencer remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident. Police say he admitted to his involvement in the killing.

Investigators determined the brothers had been playing video games when William became enraged over something that happened during the gameplay. The argument escalated until William allegedly grabbed a knife and attacked his brother.

“It’s very tragic,” Master Sergeant Gary Knight said of the case. He described it as a situation where one sibling became so angry during a gaming session that it ended in murder.

William Spencer was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center, where he remains held on the hefty bond. Court records show he faces a first-degree murder charge that could carry a life sentence if he is convicted.
