RACINE, WI – A pregnant woman was warming up her car after finishing a shift at a group home when two hooded figures approached and attacked her with a baseball bat, allegedly trying to harm her unborn child.
Gheonna Lacy says she recognized one of her attackers as a woman who had been stalking her over some kind of relationship dispute. The other assailant was a man she didn’t know.
Doorbell camera footage captured the horrifying assault Monday morning around 7 a.m. The video shows two people in dark hoodies approaching Lacy’s vehicle, one of them swinging a bat.
“They just immediately knocked me to the ground, started swinging the bat and stomping me with their feet,” Lacy told investigators. The audio picked up screaming and the sickening sound of the bat striking her body.
What the female attacker allegedly said during the beating is chilling: she wanted to “kill the baby, to get the baby,” according to Lacy’s account.
Lacy instinctively curled up and tried to protect her stomach as the blows rained down. Somehow, both she and her unborn child survived the attack and are now listed in stable condition.
The young mother already has two other children at home. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by her employer to help cover medical expenses and support her recovery.
Racine police are actively investigating but hadn’t made any arrests as of the latest update. The identities of the suspects haven’t been released, though Lacy says she knows exactly who the woman is.
The motive appears to center on whatever relationship drama sparked the stalking in the first place, though police haven’t elaborated on specifics.

Just wondering why her employer is setting up a GoFundMe acct? Shouldn’t she have medical coverage already set up by her employer?????
