Pennsylvania Teen Kills Mother, Wounds Father in Day-After-Christmas Shooting

FREEPORT TOWNSHIP, PA – An 18-year-old Pennsylvania man faces homicide charges after allegedly shooting both of his parents the day after Christmas, killing his mother and critically wounding his father before fleeing into the rugged terrain near the West Virginia border.

Jarrod Noll was captured Saturday in West Virginia following an intensive manhunt that spanned multiple days and involved tracking dogs, helicopters, and officers searching challenging terrain.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to the family’s residence on Garrison Ridge Road in Freeport Township, Greene County, just before 2 p.m. on December 26. Officers found both of Noll’s parents suffering from gunshot wounds.

His mother was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead. His father was released from the hospital in stable condition.

According to reports, Noll fired the shots outside the house. His younger siblings were present in the home at the time of the shooting but were not physically harmed. They have since been placed in the custody of a relative.

After the shooting, Noll fled on foot and was considered armed and extremely dangerous.

“When you have someone on the run with a homicide warrant, on the run with a gun, it is a huge danger to the community,” Pennsylvania State Police Sergeant Richard Sizer said during the search.

West Virginia State Police ultimately captured Noll on Saturday without incident. He is being held in West Virginia pending extradition to Pennsylvania, where he faces charges including criminal homicide and attempted homicide.

Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
