LAS VEGAS, NV – A 27-year-old Las Vegas man called 911 Saturday night to tell dispatchers he had just killed both of his parents and wanted to hurt himself, leading police to a home where they found his father dead and his mother clinging to life.
Adrian Bailey now faces two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon after allegedly beating his parents with an unknown object. His mother, who was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, died from her injuries shortly after arrival.
The chilling call came in around 11:30 p.m., with Bailey reportedly telling the 911 operator exactly what he had done. Dispatchers traced the call to a residence on New Brunswick Avenue near Bonanza and Hollywood, but Bailey had already fled.
He called back a second time from a different location before officers could reach the house.
When Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrived at the home, they found Bailey’s father already deceased. His mother was barely holding on, suffering from severe injuries consistent with a brutal beating. Paramedics rushed her to a nearby hospital, but doctors couldn’t save her.
Police tracked Bailey to the second location where he made his follow-up call and took him into custody without incident. Investigators say he admitted to the killings during questioning.
Authorities have not yet released the names of Bailey’s parents or provided details about what may have triggered the deadly attack. The murder weapon, described only as some type of object used to bludgeon the victims, hasn’t been publicly identified either.
Bailey made his initial court appearance Monday morning. He remains in custody facing two murder charges that could put him away for life if convicted.
The double homicide has shaken the neighborhood, where residents say the family had lived for years without any obvious signs of trouble.
