Kentucky Man Shoots Woman After She Confronts Him About Eating Kids’ Snacks

LOUISVILLE, KY – A Louisville man shot a woman in the arm after she confronted him about eating snacks she had purchased for her children, with the suspect allegedly taunting her moments before pulling the trigger.

Kenneth Beals, 56, faces assault charges and a firearms violation after the bizarre Sunday incident that left a mother recovering from a gunshot wound over what started as a dispute about stolen food.

According to Louisville Metro Police, the trouble began when Beals helped himself to snacks that belonged to a woman’s children. The victim’s aunt witnessed him eating the food and told her about it, prompting the woman to confront Beals as he was heading out the door.

What happened next left investigators shaking their heads. Rather than apologize or simply leave, Beals reportedly got cocky about the whole thing.

“Yes, I ate your snack and it was good,” Beals allegedly told the woman, according to court documents.

Then he shot her in the arm.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital where she received treatment for the gunshot wound. Her current condition hasn’t been publicly disclosed, though the injury was described as non-life-threatening.

Beals was taken into custody and booked on charges including assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. The weapons charge suggests this wasn’t his first brush with the law.

At his Monday arraignment, a judge set bond at $5,000. Court records indicate Beals was released after posting bail, meaning he’s currently out of custody while awaiting trial.

The case has drawn attention on social media, with many expressing disbelief that a dispute over children’s snacks could escalate to gunfire. Louisville police continue investigating the incident.

  1. Why is this “nut” even walking free on the streets? Mental case, racist, or just stupid but obviously a dire need for professional supervision.
