Medical Examiner Updates Records in Tesla Trunk Death Case

LOS ANGELES, CA – A mysterious update to official records has sparked new questions in the investigation surrounding a teenage girl discovered dead in the trunk of a car linked to a popular singer.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office has altered its online case file for Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the Lake Elsinore teen whose body was found in a Tesla connected to rising music artist D4VD. Previously searchable information about case number 2025-14252 now appears completely blank, with all fields showing empty.

For weeks, the case had been publicly viewable with the cause of death listed as “deferred” while additional testing was underway. The sudden disappearance of that information on Friday could signal that final autopsy results are now complete, according to sources familiar with such procedures.

Investigators have reached out to the Medical Examiner’s office seeking confirmation about whether the deferred results have been finalized. Another possibility is that officials have placed a security hold on the case in advance of releasing the autopsy findings to the public.

The completed autopsy will play a crucial role in determining what criminal charges, if any, can be filed beyond the initial “concealment of a body” allegation referenced by the Los Angeles Police Department. Sources recently confirmed that D4VD is now being considered a suspect in the case, though police have officially stated only that the investigation continues.

No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed as of Friday evening. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office says prosecutors have not yet received a case for review from investigators.

Any decision about potential criminal charges will likely wait until the autopsy becomes officially available. Medical examiner reports often provide critical evidence about whether a death resulted from natural causes, accident, suicide or homicide.

The teenage victim’s family has been waiting weeks for answers about what happened to their daughter. Community members in Lake Elsinore have expressed frustration over the pace of the investigation and the limited information being released by authorities.

Legal experts note that complex death investigations can take considerable time, especially when forensic tests and toxicology results are involved. The medical examiner’s office typically works closely with law enforcement to ensure all evidence is properly documented before making findings public.
