MIAMI BEACH, FL – Popular YouTuber Jack Doherty was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he repeatedly refused to move from the middle of a busy street where he was creating video content.
Doherty, 22, who has 3.2 million subscribers and is known for daredevil stunts and pranks, was taken into custody around 3:12 a.m. on the 700 block of Washington Avenue in Miami Beach’s Entertainment District.
According to the Miami Beach Police Department, Doherty separated from his group and positioned himself in the middle of the roadway with oncoming traffic to “create video content.” When officers commanded him to exit the road for his safety and to allow traffic to flow, he repeatedly refused.
“Once I’m done with this bet,” Doherty told officers when asked to move, according to the arrest report.
During the arrest, officers discovered Doherty was in possession of illegal substances. He was found with half an orange oval-shaped pill identified as amphetamine, as well as three hand-rolled cannabis cigarettes weighing approximately 4 grams.
Doherty faces four charges: possession of amphetamine, marijuana possession, resisting an officer without violence, and obstruction of traffic.
He was released from custody later Saturday. In a TikTok video posted Saturday night, Doherty appeared casual about the incident, stating, “I got arrested last night and now I’m free.”
The Miami Beach Police Department issued a statement emphasizing its commitment to “maintain public safety and order throughout the city—regardless of celebrity status.”
Doherty has built a massive online following by posting videos of pranks, challenges and stunts that often push legal and safety boundaries. His arrest highlights ongoing concerns about social media influencers engaging in dangerous or illegal behavior to generate content.
A court date has been set for next month.
