LYNWOOD, CA – A 7-year-old child was found dead at a Lynwood apartment complex Tuesday morning, leading to the arrest of three family members on murder and conspiracy charges.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to an apartment in the 3100 block of Euclid Avenue at 8:30 a.m. following a report of a “suspicious incident.” Upon arrival, investigators discovered the deceased child and immediately launched a homicide investigation.
The child’s mother, 25-year-old Destiny Harrison, was arrested and charged with murder. The child’s father, 25-year-old Daniel Monzon, and grandmother, 46-year-old Ana Zarceno-Carcamo, were both arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
Bail for each of the three suspects was set at $2 million. All three remain in custody as the investigation continues.
In addition to the tragic death, deputies discovered three other children in the home, aged 16, 13, and 9 months. All three siblings were immediately taken into protective custody by child welfare authorities. The children are being evaluated and provided with appropriate care and services.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has not released details about the cause of death or the circumstances surrounding the child’s death. Investigators are treating the case as an active homicide investigation.
“The case is still being actively investigated and no further details about the case will be shared in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation,” sheriff’s department officials said in a statement.
The Lynwood apartment complex where the child was found has been secured as a crime scene. Investigators have been processing evidence and conducting interviews with neighbors and potential witnesses.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward. The Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau can be reached at 323-890-5500 for anyone who may have relevant information about the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not indicated whether additional arrests are expected in connection with the child’s death.

The mother of the murdered child should need to undergo a sterilization surgery! She probably will get pregnant again to keep out of prison or in a softer prison. Adults involved with abuse, lack of welfare, lack of food, lack of clean housing for their children should NEVER be allowed custody of children. Lately we have had so many abusive, murderer parents of children, IF THEY DO NOT RECEIVE HEAVY SENTENCING FOR LIFE WHEN THEY MURDER, we will see more and more abuse/murder of offspring.
