Miami Woman Charged After Stabbing Teen Sister 10 Times Over Cellphone

CUTLER BAY, FL – A 26-year-old Florida woman was charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her 15-year-old sister approximately 10 times during a violent altercation over a cellphone Sunday afternoon.

Lynn My Le was arrested following the incident at their Cutler Bay home, where the confrontation began after the teenage victim discovered Le going through her cellphone without permission.

According to the arrest report filed by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the victim attempted to retrieve her cellphone from Le. After the girl grabbed her phone back, Le obtained a knife and pursued her younger sister toward the front door of the residence.

The attack was swift and brutal. Le stabbed the victim approximately four times in the back as the teen tried to flee. When the girl fell to the ground, unable to escape, Le continued the assault, inflicting about six additional stab wounds while the victim pleaded for her life, according to investigators.

The teen sustained a total of approximately 10 stab wounds during the attack. The extent of her injuries and current medical condition have not been disclosed by authorities, though she survived the assault.

Le was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder. During questioning, she declined to cooperate with detectives investigating the incident. The arrest report does not indicate who contacted 911 or how emergency services were alerted to the stabbing.

On Monday, Le appeared before a judge at a bond hearing where prosecutors argued she posed a danger to the community and her family. The judge agreed and denied her release on bond, ordering her to remain in custody pending trial.

Her arraignment is scheduled for November 17, where she will be formally charged and asked to enter a plea. If convicted of attempted murder, Le could face a lengthy prison sentence.

The case highlights the potential for domestic violence to erupt over seemingly minor disputes. Family violence experts note that conflicts over personal property, including cellphones, can escalate rapidly when underlying tensions exist within households.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has not released additional information about whether there were prior incidents between the sisters or if other family members were present during the attack. Investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses as the case moves forward in the criminal justice system.
