Three Arkansas Men Charged in Russian Roulette Kidnapping Case

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – Three Arkansas men are facing kidnapping and aggravated robbery charges after authorities say they abducted an 18-year-old man at gunpoint and forced him to play Russian roulette in a basement.

Jackson Homan, 23, Charles Homan, 19, and Robert Ellerd, 54, were arrested following the Sept. 21 incident. Each faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated robbery and terroristic threatening.

The victim told police he was helping his girlfriend return her car when Jackson Homan pulled him from the vehicle at gunpoint. The suspects then drove him to a North Little Rock residence, where he was taken to the basement and restrained with an extension cord.

During the ordeal, the suspects allegedly forced the victim to play Russian roulette and threatened to kill him and his parents if he did not break up with his girlfriend and leave Little Rock. The men also made him destroy his cellphone before throwing the pieces into a pond.

Authorities say the victim was later released and dumped at North Little Rock High School.

The victim’s girlfriend, who witnessed the kidnapping, initially did not report the incident out of fear. Ellerd was reportedly the fiancé of the victim’s girlfriend’s mother, who claimed she was unaware of the events.

Ellerd, who worked as a financial aid director at the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College, was terminated from his position following his arrest.

All three men are being held on $50,000 bond each. The investigation remains ongoing.
