DALLAS, Texas – A shooting at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office Wednesday left one detainee dead and two others critically injured, federal authorities reported.
The gunman, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, opened fire from a rooftop across the street and later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The victims were all detainees: Norlan Guzman-Fuentes, 37, from El Salvador, who was killed, and two wounded detainees from Mexico and Venezuela.
FBI investigators found “anti-ICE” messages on shell casings, suggesting a targeted attack on the facility located near Dallas Love Field Airport. The building serves as a temporary detention center processing immigration cases.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem condemned the violence, stating the shooting was “motivated by hatred for ICE” and calling for an end to inflammatory rhetoric about law enforcement agencies.
“This attack represents a direct assault on federal officers and the immigrants they serve,” Noem said in a statement. “We will not tolerate violence against our personnel or those in federal custody.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott expressed support for ICE personnel and called for a thorough investigation into the shooter’s motives and background.
The FBI is treating the incident as a domestic terrorism case and investigating whether Jahn had connections to anti-government groups. Authorities said he acted alone but are examining his social media presence and personal history.
The facility had received a bomb threat in August, highlighting ongoing security concerns at immigration enforcement locations nationwide. The shooting comes amid heightened tensions surrounding immigration policy and enforcement operations.
ICE officials said enhanced security measures have been implemented at facilities across the region while the investigation continues.

NOT saying this isn’t ‘domestic terrorism’ by any means but in reality, what is the point on expending resources to prove it? After all, the perp is deceased and unless there is some link with others possibly involved that the authorities can charge as accessories, it is kinda pointless.
